Dixie Roofing Inc. was established in 1966 by brothers James Fred, Bernard, and Jerry Blakely. Starting with a modest dream and limited resources, they built the company from the ground up. In the early years, the team, consisting of the brothers and a handful of employees, tackled a variety of projects, including flat roofs, glass store fronts, steel erection, heating and air conditioning, and general sheet metal work.
Tragedy struck in 1969 during the installation of a new roof system on the Vo-Tech building in Grenada. James Fred fell through the decking, leading to his passing a few days later. Despite this devastating loss, Bernard and Jerry persevered, continuing operations until 1972 when Jerry bought out Bernard's share, becoming the sole owner. Dixie Roofing officially incorporated in 1985.
Over the decades, Dixie Roofing has evolved from a small crew of brothers into a thriving enterprise with seven crews and approximately 30 employees. The company specializes in residential and commercial roofing, sheet metal fabrication and repair services. A dedicated, professionally staffed office ensures exceptional customer service and a seamless experience for clients.
